Envelope Sizes

Envelopes are printed in four sizes:

 

 

C6 Envelopes measure 162mm x 114mm, and accommodate A4-sized documents that are folded into quarters.


  • DL Envelopes measure 220mm x 110mm, and accommodate A4-sized documents that are folded into thirds.
  • C5 Envelopes measure 229mm x 162mm, and accommodate A4-sized documents that are folded in half.
  • C4 Envelopes measure 324mm x 229mm, and accommodate A4-sized documents that are unfolded (or flat).

 

Preparing your envelope printing file

You can submit your own files that are press ready. Please note that we CANNOT print envelopes to the very edge of the envelope.

If you submit your own file, then keep all text and images at least 7mm in from the edge of the file. This issue is vital if you are to get the high-quality product that you want.

 

Envelope Paper Stock

TheInternetPrinter offers envelopes on one type of paper stock: 100gsm White Laser-printer Friendly Offset.

All envelopes are wallet styled with Zip seal.

 

 

C6 envelopes have the Zip seal along the short edge at the end.


  • DL envelopes have the Zip seal along the long edge at the top.
  • C5 envelopes have the Zip seal along the short edge at the end.
  • C4 envelopes have the Zip seal along the short edge at the end.

 

Laser Safe Envelopes

All envelopes are offset printed — they are printed in the old-fashioned way using big presses and wet inks. This means that all envelopes can be used in a laser printer and the envelopes will not damage your laser printer. Again, all of our envelopes are 100% laser-printer safe envelopes.

TheInternetPrinter DOES NOT offer digitally printed envelopes, as digital printing uses toner instead of ink, and toner can melt in laser printers. So, no matter who you get to print your DL, C6, C5 or C4 envelopes, always ensure that the envelopes are offset printed.

 

Set Quantities

Envelopes must be purchased in set quantities. You may order as few as 500 envelopes online, or you can order as many as 50,000 online.

We suggest that you order at least 1,000 envelopes, as the price difference between 500 and 1,000 is not very great. The reason is that with offset printing you must pay for the large printing plates that we use, and when ordering small quantities, the cost of us preparing the plates is the greatest part of our cost.

 

Black and White Envelope Printing

All our laser printer safe envelopes are printed in black and white only (and in every shade of grey in between).

TheInternetPrinter does NOT print colour envelopes.

 

PDF Proofs

You can order a PDF proof for no extra charge.

A PDF proof is the press-ready file that we will use to print your envelopes. If you ask for a copy, then we will send it to you before we send your envelope file off to our presses.

We suggest you ask for a PDF proof, as it will allow you one last check before the job is printed.

 

Delivery

All laser-printer safe envelopes is dispatched within 10 full working days of you approving your PDF proof, or within 10 full business days of you presenting us with a press-ready file. In fact, envelopes are almost always dispatched before that time.

You can choose to have your laser printer friendly envelopes delivered by TNT's courier service, or you may choose to have them delivered by Australia Post, and delivery is normally overnight to the east coast capital cities, two or three days to regional Australia, and up to seven days to remote parts of the country.
